Connection to S/4 HANA

You can create a connection that allows you to import data from SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition or On-Premises exposed OData V2 services.

Prerequisites

Technical prerequisites

There are a few prerequisites that need to be fulfilled on the SAP side, when using ODP. SAP released a number of SAP notes that apply when using Xtract ODP component:

• 1931427 - ODP Data Replication API 2.0

• 2232584 - Release of SAP extractors for ODP replication (ODP SAPI)

• 1560241 - Release of DataSources for ODP data replication API

• 2196500 - ODP Package size cannot be reduced below 50 MB

• 2191995 - ODQ Package Size cannot be reduced below 50 MByte

• implement SAP Note 1817467

The SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server system must be running on an SAP NetWeaver system with release 7.30 or higher.

We recommend installing the latest version of the DMIS add-on in the source system.

Support Packages

The following releases of ERP and PI_BASIS (or higher) are prerequisites to use ODP interface (e.g. ERP system as source system):

• PI_BASIS 730 SP 14 (part of SAP NetWeaver 7.30 SP 14)

• PI_BASIS 731 SP 16 (part of SAP NetWeaver 7.03 SP 16 and 7.31 SP 16)

• PI_BASIS 740 SP 11 (part of SAP NetWeaver 7.40 SP 11)

• SAP_BW 750 SP 0 (incl. former PI_BASIS packages)

• DW4CORE 100 SP 0 (incl. former PI_BASIS packages)

• DW4CORE 200 SP 0 (incl. former PI_BASIS packages)

Moreover, to make the ODP-functionality work well, it's strongly recommended you apply the latest (or latest – 1) support package based on Note 375631 - Which Support Package is recommended for BW-customers?

We strongly recommend to import these Support Packages (SP) that contain all relevant enhancements:

Authorizations required for ODP Data Replication

you can assign one of the existing profiles S_BI-WX_RFC (for ODP contexts DataSource/extractors or ABAP CDS) or S_BI-WHM_RFC (for ODP context SAP BW or BW/4HANA) to the communication user. These profiles include all required authorizations for ODP data replication but also for other purposes e.g. BW process chains executed by the BW background user.
