Step 1: Go to Calculations under Drives on the left side panel of the navigation pane.
Step 2: From the list of Rule Actions, select the newly created Allocation Action Rule Type and go to the level 2 header and click on the Plus icon to create new Allocation rule group details. A right-side panel of the Allocation Detail will be opened.
Step 3: Key in the Allocation Group Rule Description.
Step 4: Click on SAVE to save the creation done or CANCEL to disregard the creation.
Step 5: Select the newly created Allocation group to add more details on the allocation rule. Action icons of Plus, Copy, Edit, and Trash will be shown on mouseover.
Step 6: Then select the Plus (+) icon to create the allocation details. The right-side panel of Allocation Detail will be open for the user to populate with the required information.
Step 7: Go to the General tab and Key in the Allocation Description.
Step 8: From the Dropdown list, select the required Allocation Method; Driver, Reclass are available for selection.
Step 9: Once the Allocation method is selected, Activate it by ticking the box of the Intercompany Rule if required. This is optional.
Step 10: Select the Output Dataset by clicking the Click to Select box. A member selector of the Dataset field will be opened.
Step 11: Select the specific base or leaf member where the output dataset will be posted.
Step 12: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 13: An optional setting can be done to set the dependency by clicking the Dependency box. A Selector popover window will be opened and the available allocation detail will be shown in the list.
Step 14: Click Insert Items below to reflect the selection done on the right side of the selector window.
Step 15: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 16: Activate the allocation detail created by clicking in the Activate tick box.
Step 17: Go to the Input tab and select the member filter icon of the fields that need to be defined. A Member Selector window pop-over will be open for selection. Options for the user to have multi-select and specific member selection are available for the user as well as the relationships like; current member, leaf member, children, descendants, current member and leaf member, current member and children, and current member and descendants.
Step 18: Click Insert Items below to reflect the selection done on the right side of the member selector window.
Step 19: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 20: Activate the Apply on Cumulative Data by clicking the tick box.
Step 21: Select the required Input type. By Factor and By Value is available on the selection list. When By Factor is selected, the Allocation Factor box will be opened. Manually enter the Allocation factor to be used on the calculation or by the increase/decrease button on the right side of the box can be used. If the By Value is chosen, Amount to Allocate box will be opened. Manually enter the allocation amount to be used on the calculation or by the increase/decrease button on the right side of the box can be used.
Step 22: Go to the Output tab and set the Allocation Driver fields. Key in the Driver Name.
Step 23: Set the Dimensions. Select the member filter icon of the fields which need to be defined. A Member Selector window pop-over will be open for selection. Options for the user to have multi-select and specific member selection are available for the user as well as the relationships like; current member, leaf member, children, descendants, current member and leaf member, current member and children, and current member and descendants. An option to set Allocate or Matching is also available for the user by ticking the required method.
Step 24: Click Insert Items below to reflect the selection done on the right side of the member selector window.
Step 25: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 26: Set the Output Dimensions. Click on the Update list to define the fields to be used. A Selector window popover will appear for the user from the list of fields. These fields are limited on the list of fields defined under the tagged model used in the allocation Action rule.
Step 27: Click Insert Items below to reflect the selection done on the right side of the member selector window.
Step 28: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 29: Select the member filter icon of the fields which need to be defined. A Member Selector window pop-over will be open for selection. This is a single select member which is default to the current member only. Only the base or leaf member should be defined.
Step 30: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 31: Click on Advanced Posting Rules if required. (Optional). A window pop-over will be opened to define the required fields' Input and output in a table format. If necessary, row/s can be added by clicking the ADD ROW button. dropdown selection of the members of each field is available on double-click. The user can either use the scrollbar to search for the member required or the user can key in to search for the field members.
Step 32: Click on SAVE to save the settings done or BACK TO FIELD MAPPING to disregard the settings.
Step 33: Set the Offset fields by selecting from the list of options: Same as Source, Not Applicable, or User-defined. Should the user select User-defined, a Dimension selection will be made available for the user to set.
Step 34: Set the Dimensions to be Offset. Click on the Update list to define the fields to be used. A Selector window popover will appear for the user from the list of fields. These fields are limited on the list of fields defined under the tagged model used in the allocation Action rule.
Step 35: Click Insert Items below to reflect the selection done on the right side of the member selector window.
Step 36: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 37: Select the member filter icon of the fields which need to be defined. A Member Selector window pop-over will be open for selection. This is a single select member which is default to the current member only. Only the base or leaf member should be defined. An option to set Allocate or Matching is also available for the user by ticking the required method.
Step 38: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
Step 39: Click on SAVE to save the creation done or CANCEL to disregard the creation. An information popup will appear that the Rule detail was saved successfully.
Note: In a Member selector or selector pop-over window, when an on-the-right-side (previously selected) field is ticked and selected, a trash icon will appear on the upper right side giving an option to the user to delete the selected member.
A new Allocation Rule with the rule details will then be created.
