Apps can be accessed from the Explore pane, under space. By default, every space will have the Standard App. Standard App contains a functional area Public, which contain stories and rules. Other apps created by users will be accessible from the Explore pane to users with accessibility permissions. Click on the App name to view and manage contents and permission for the app. All the Functional Area contained in the app, along with the sheets, models, rules, boards and workbooks will be listed in the app. An app can be secured. When secured, by default the app creator is assigned as the App owner. Only the app owner can now grant permission to users in the space to access the selective objects and data in the app, as well as re-calculate metrics and export metric detail.

Access App

When App is selected from the Explore pane, the App details will show in Catalog and Metrics tabs. If the App is secure, an additional tab Permission is also shown.

Catalog

The App catalog will list all the Objects contained in the App. The objects will be grouped under Functional Area. The catalog table will list objects by Name, Title and Type ( Functional Area /Sheet/ Folder etc). From the level 2 header, we can look for specific object by typing in the search.

Metrics

The metrics tab of the App contains a list of all the metric under the App. The metrics are listed by Sheet they are created in, metric name, data type, Formula, Applies to, Data Protection Rule applied to the metric, Fields used in the metric and Functional area to which the sheet where metric is created belongs to.

From the level 2 header, by clicking , the option to Export will show. In a secure App, the App Owner will also see the option to Re-calculate Metrics as well.

Permissions

The Permission tab will show a list of Roles who can access the App, by Role, number of users assigned and Action for each role. The action on role include :

User Assignment : Assign role to users in space

Role Assignment : Update permission and access to app objects and data

Copy : Create copy of the role

On the level 2 header, using the option we can look for specific user. The option allows creation of new role within the App.
