JustPerform Sheets - an advanced, web-based table that goes beyond snippets & excel, accessible through the web platform, provide a tabular format for users to capture and manipulate data in rows and columns. This familiar environment allows users to input and manipulate data effortlessly, organizing information in a tabular structure. The entered and computed values can be saved to these tables.
Metrics within JustPerform Sheets represent sets of data with shared attributes, serving as key dimension. A sheet can accommodate multiple metrics of varying types (text, number, formula, etc.) based on specific needs. Users can combine and manipulate metrics across sheets, enabling the creation of new metrics through computations. This approach allows users to capture the calculation logic without the need to use Business Rule engine calculations.
For instance, imagine Gross Sales Price as a numerical metric recording sales data across different departments, and Discount as a percentage metric representing applied discounts. Through these metrics, a third metric, Net Sales (a formula metric), can be derived by calculating the product of Gross Sales Price and Discount. The flexibility of JustPerform Sheets facilitates the creation of new metrics, providing users with a versatile method for analyzing and understanding data within the platform.

The Data Locking feature in JustPerform is designed to prevent accidental changes to data during specific time periods, and it applies when saving data to input forms and calculation rule engines. To activate Data Locking, go to Model Schema, then Reference, and check the Allow Data Locking checkbox. Make sure you've set up the required System Properties: TIMEID in Time Field Type to identify time sequencing and EDIT_FROM and EDIT_TO (linked to Time) in Scenario Field Type to define allowed periods for each version. Once set up, if you try to save input data or run calculations outside the allowed period for the selected version, you'll receive an error message indicating that the Version-Time combination is not permitted for posting.
