Create a new rule - Automatic Journal Method

Step 1: Go to Calculations under Drives on the left side panel of the navigation pane.

Step 2: From the list of Rule Actions, select the newly created Automatic Journal Action Rule Type and go to the level 2 header and click on the Plus icon to create new Automatic Journal rule group details. A right-side panel of the Automatic Journal Detail will be opened.

Step 3: Key in the Automatic Journal Group Rule Description.

Output Dataset Field

Step 4: Click on the Output Dataset field member selection to be used in the calculation. Member selection window popover will be opened

Step 5: Select the member and the selected member will be shown on the right side of the box as current member (CM).

Step 6: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Applicable to Field: Same process for Version and Currency type Group Subtype field selection

Step 7: Click on the Version or Currency type Group Subtype field filter icon to select the field member selection to be used in the calculation. Member selection window popover will be opened.

Step 8: Select member. Selection is available for the user as well as the relationships like; current member, leaf member, children, descendants, current member and leaf member, current member and children, and current member and descendants. Selected member and relationship will be shown on the right side of the window.

Step 9: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Step 10: Click on SAVE to save the creation done or CANCEL to disregard the creation. A popup confirmation will appear showing that the new Automatic Journal calculation group was created.

Step 11: Select the newly created Automatic Journal group to add more details on the rule. Action icons of Plus, Copy, Edit, and Trash will be shown on mouseover.

Step 12: Then select the Plus (+) icon to create the details. The right-side panel of Automatic Journal Detail will be open for the user to populate with the required information.

Step 13: Key in the Description.

Input Dataset:

Step 14: Select the Input Dataset by clicking the Click to Select box. A member selector of the Dataset field will be opened.

Step 15: Select member. Selection is available for the user as well as the relationships like; current member, leaf member, children, descendants, current member and leaf member, current member and children, and current member and descendants. Selected member and relationship will be shown on the right side of the window.

Step 16: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Step 17: From the switch button activate whether Debit or Credit

Input: Applied to both Account and Flow fields

Step 18: Select Account and Flow member. Selection is available for the user as well as the relationships like; current member, leaf member, children, descendants, current member and leaf member, current member and children, and current member and descendants. Selected member and relationship will be shown on the right side of the window.

Step 19: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Step 20: Activate by clicking and show check mark on Apply to Periodic if required.

Formula Field

Step 21: Key in the required formula to be applied on the calculation in the text box.

Debit: Please do the same for both Account and Flow

Step 22: Select the field member by clicking the filter icon. A member selector for the field will be opened.

Step 23: Select the member and the selected member will be shown on the right side of the box as current member (CM).

Step 24: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Credit: Please do the same for both Account and Flow

Step 25: Select the field member by clicking the filter icon. A member selector for the field will be opened.

Step 26: Select the member and the selected member will be shown on the right side of the box as current member (CM).

Step 27: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Relationship:

Step 28: Select relationship for the Entity and Intercompany based on the Ownership structure model tagged on the model to be calculated. Member selector Ownership structure method list will appear. Select the method to be used for Entity and intercompany. Selected member and relationship will be shown on the right side of the window.

Step 29: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Step 30: Check the Swap Entity - Intercompany if the relationship requires swapping (Optional).

Step 31: Check the Post to Interco Balances as required (Optional).

Step 32: Click on SAVE to save the creation done or CANCEL to disregard the creation. An information popup will appear that the Rule detail was saved successfully.

A new Automatic Journal rule detail will then be created.

Edit rule - Automatic Journal Method

Step 1: Go to Calculations under Drives on the left side panel of the navigation pane.

Step 2: From the list of Rule Actions, select the created Automatic Journal Action Rule Type and go to the created Automatic Journal rule group details to be edited. From the created Automatic Journal group, select Edit from the Action icons that will be shown on mouseover: Plus, Copy, Edit, and Trash. A right-side panel of the Automatic Journal Detail will be opened.

Step 3: Edit if required the Automatic Journal Group Rule Description.

Output Dataset Field

Step 4: Click on the Output Dataset field member from the selection to be update the edit the member to be used in the calculation. Member selection window popover will be opened

Step 5: Select the member and the selected member will be shown on the right side of the box as current member (CM).

Step 6: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Applicable to Field: Same process for Version and Currency type Group Subtype field selection

Step 7: To edit, click on the Version or Currency type Group Subtype field filter icon and select the field member selection to be used in the calculation. Member selection window popover will be opened.

Step 8: Select member. Selection is available for the user as well as the relationships like; current member, leaf member, children, descendants, current member and leaf member, current member and children, and current member and descendants. Selected member and relationship will be shown on the right side of the window.

Step 9: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Step 10: Click on SAVE to save the editing done or CANCEL to disregard editing. A popup confirmation will appear showing that the Automatic Journal calculation group was saved.

Edit rule - Automatic Journal Rule

Step 1: Select the from the existing list of Automatic Journal group to start editing. The list of rule details will be expanded.

Step 2: Then select rule details to edit and the right side pane of the details will be opened.

Step 3: Edit the Description if required.

Input Dataset:

Step 4: Select the Input Dataset to be edited by clicking the Click to Select box. A member selector of the Dataset field will be opened.

Step 5: Select member. Selection is available for the user as well as the relationships like; current member, leaf member, children, descendants, current member and leaf member, current member and children, and current member and descendants. Selected member and relationship will be shown on the right side of the window.

Step 6: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.

Step 7: From the switch button activate whether Debit or Credit

Step 18: If required to edit, select Relationship as for the Entity and Intercompany based on the Ownership structure model tagged on the model to be calculated. Member selector Ownership structure method list will appear. Select the method to be used for Entity and intercompany. Selected member and relationship will be shown on the right side of the window.

Step 19: Click on OKAY to save the selection done or CANCEL to disregard the selection.
